Bloc Card

Privacy Policy

Effective April 27, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Get Bloc Card ("we", "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to getbloccard.com and any related services.

What we collect

  • Business information: business name, email, phone, website, and the offer text you submit when claiming a spot.
  • Creative assets: the files or URLs you provide for the printed card.
  • Payment information: processed directly by Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers on our servers.
  • Digital companion engagement: if you scan the QR on a printed Bloc Card and view the digital directory at /c/<campaign-slug>, we record anonymous engagement events (which businesses you tapped, whether you called/visited a website/got directions/saved a contact). We set a first-party session cookie containing a random opaque token so we can stitch your taps together within one visit. We do not collect your name, email, phone, or address from this page unless you explicitly provide them in a future opt-in form. We also store a salted hash of your IP and your country (no finer location) for fraud detection.
  • Newsletter signups (“On the Bloc”): if you subscribe to one of our city-specific newsletters at /on-the-bloc/<city>, we collect your email and (optionally) your first name, ZIP, the interest categories you check, and any free-text note you leave. We log a timestamp + salted hash of your IP + truncated user-agent at the moment of signup as a consent audit trail (so we can show, if asked, when you agreed to receive the newsletter).
  • Usage information: basic server logs (IP, browser, page viewed) used to operate and secure the site.

How we use it

  • To fulfill your order — print and mail the card your spot is on.
  • To send transactional emails (order confirmations, design approval requests).
  • To protect against fraud and abuse.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

Newsletter and intent data

When you subscribe to On the Bloc — <City>, the interest categories you check and any free-text note you leave help us decide which local businesses to feature in upcoming issues. That's the first purpose, and the main one.

We may also share aggregate intent data with potential Bloc Card advertisers. For example: “60 Edmonds homeowners said they're thinking about home maintenance this quarter.” Aggregate means we never share an individual subscriber's name, email, ZIP, or specific interests as part of that data. Personal data stays internal.

We do notsell or rent the newsletter list. We do not forward your contact info to advertisers, lead-gen platforms, or third parties. The only way a Bloc Card advertiser ever sees an individual subscriber's info is if you separately and explicitly opt in to a direct introduction at a future point — and we'll ask you in plain language at the moment you're considering it. (At launch, that feature does not exist; if and when it does, the opt-in is opt-in, never default-on.)

You can unsubscribe at any time from any newsletter email, or by emailing hello@getbloccard.com. Unsubscribes are honored within 10 business days at the latest (typically immediately).

Who we share it with

We share information only with vendors who help us deliver the Service — Stripe (payments), Resend (email), Supabase (database and auth), Vercel (hosting), and our print and mailing partners. We do not sell your personal information.

Data retention

We keep order records for as long as required for tax, accounting, and dispute resolution purposes, typically seven years. You may request deletion of your account data at any time by emailing hello@getbloccard.com.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below.

Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies (for example, to keep admins logged in). We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Children

The Service is intended for businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted here with a revised effective date.
